It's up to you. Three days of inspiration, education and skills development for sustainability leaders
Three pledges that I am sure we will hear ad nauseam during this election year. Pledges that reflect the concerns of the American people and American businesses. Our leaders in government have mostly failed to tackle these issues because they put themselves and their parties before the interests of the American people. As the U.S. sits on the sidelines, debating the validity of climate change, the rest of the world is making substantial investments in clean energy and sustainable technologies for the sake of the planet and the betterment of their economies.
Well, we have sat on the sidelines long enough and it is apparent that it is now up to us to address these critical issues. The business community, city leadership and entrepreneurs are coming together to find cost effective solutions to address climate change. “Going green” is estimated to be a $100 billion dollar business by the year 2017. Whether you believe in the science behind climate change or not, you cannot overlook the solid data that confirms the cost savings and efficiency gains of organizations that have embraced sustainability as a core value. Further, as an American you cannot deny the need to invest in clean energy as a way to strengthen our economy, our national security and provide a wholesome future for our children.
So what does all this have to do with the summit? The Sustainable Operations Summit is the premier forum for leading organizations to share best practices that benefit both the environment and the bottom line. The 2012 summit will bring together some of the world's brightest minds in sustainability in New York City during Earth Week to share innovative approaches to reduce our impact on the environment with a focus on energy, the built environment and resource conservation.
From the High Line to the Skyline, NYC plays the perfect host for the summit as it is home to some of the most inspiring green building and urban renewal projects in the world. So join us this April as we present the future of sustainable operations. From exclusive keynote presentations to interactive discussions, the Sustainable Operations Summit will provide you with the knowledge and connections necessary to make a positive impact on your organization.
“Excellent experience. SOS brings together business and government to share best practices and breakthrough ideas for growing our economy and communities sustainably. Participants leave charged with new ideas and are inspired to act!”
“All topics were well focused. Overall a great bunch of organizations sharing their knowledge on sustainable design, construction and operations…just what’s needed! Great job…your staff is remarkable!”
“A very well organized and executed event. Clean, crisp and professionally run conference.”
We launched the Sustainable Operations Summit in 2006 as an invitation-only event for leadership from the nation's largest corporations and cities. Over the past seven years the summit has convened visionaries such as President Clinton, Al Gore, David Suzuki, Ray Anderson (RIP), Amory Lovins, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr and hundreds more to discuss and debate solutions to climate change with great effect. However, we realize that the message of the summit has simply become too urgent to keep private. Therefore, in 2012 we are doubling the size of the delegation and making a limited portion of tickets available to qualified attendees, allowing our message to be carried further and with greater effect.
